Jessica's Kayak Slalom Photo Album |
Animas River Days Parade was so much fun to watch because it shows the character of this little town of Durango and how the community is so close and knows how to throw a happenin’ party on the river. During the Animas River Days Festival, the Abercrombie film crew flew into town and followed me around for three days. They were incredibly talented and hilarious. They made it easier for me when they stuffed cameras in my face to feel at ease and relaxed and just be myself when I paddled, hung out with friends, and answered interview questions. Thank you, producer Burke Morley for an unforgettable weekend! I’m really looking forward to the final product, the video footage which will be featured in the Abercrombie Kids website in a few months!

ANIMAS RIVER DAYS June 10-11, 2006 Durango, CO
“Lights. camera. action! ...Looking good in Abercrombie.” |
I’ve seen rafters do really weird things on the river, but I’ve never seen one of these — a stacked raft running Smelter Hole on the Animas during the parade! |
FILMING THE ABERCROMBIE & FITCH VIDEOA NOTE FROM JAMES:Abercrombie & Fitch selected Jessica as a featured athlete for the sport of whitewater kayaking. Offered to pick any venue in the U.S. for the film shoot, Jessica selected her adopted hometown of Durango, Colorado.Abercrombie flew a veteran and highly skilled film crew into Durango at great expense and filmed Jessica paddling the slalom course, playboating, and Class V creeking. With the exception of the Animas Raft Parade, no photos are available for this event as we are bound by restrictions imposed by them. The video is currently in the editing phase and will be released on their website soon! |
